St. Lawrence Shipoperators' members generate thousands of direct jobs and several hundreds of millions of dollars in economic spinoffs throughout Quebec and Canada. They contribute to the strength and vitality of the marine industry and the Quebec economy
St. Lawrence Shipoperators’ active members are primarily owners of Canadian-flagged tonnage, representing a fleet of close to 120 vessels. Many of these ship operators buy domestically, generating significant spinoffs.
While active members’ operations are concentrated on the St. Lawrence and in the Great Lakes, they also serve Northern Quebec, the Canadian Arctic, Newfoundland, the Maritime Provinces, the Magdalen Islands, the Lower North Shore, Anticosti Island and foreign ports.

St. Lawrence Shipoperators has over 80 associate members, who supply various products and services to active members and the marine industry as a whole. Associate members are ports, maritime agencies, classification societies, shipyards, lawyers, navigational equipment suppliers, naval architects, stevedores, training institutions, labour unions, suppliers of petroleum products and paint, etc., who strive to maintain the marine industry’s vitality.
